Who will be the next Baconette?
Online Contest
A. Eligibility and Entry
Platform: Entries must be submitted as a video file suitable for Instagram Reels (vertical 9:16 aspect ratio).
Submission Method: Entrants will submit their final video file via Google Drive Link
Account Status: Entrants must be following the official Bataan Anime Convention SNS Accounts:

Submission Deadline: Entries will be accepted from October 1 at 8:00 AM until November 14 at 5:00 pm (PH Time).
B. Video Content Requirements
Cosplay: The video must feature a cosplay of the Bataan Anime Convention mascot, Baconette.
Cosplay of Baconette can be costrip (Wig and Makeup only will suffice)
You can create versions of Baconette (e.g., Space, Lolita, Jirai Ke, etc.,)
Strictly NSFW cosplay is not allowed.

Theme: The video must incorporate a clear Game Theme.
Length & Format: The video must be a maximum of 90 seconds long and in the vertical 9:16 format (standard for Reels).
Required Info: Submissions must be accompanied by the following:
Your Instagram Handle.
A short caption (50-100 words) describing your video and the game/genre inspiration.
[Optional, but Recommended] A short credit for the music or sounds used.
C. Judging and Costume Standard (Addressing Cost)
Craftsmanship Focus: Judging will heavily prioritize creativity, resourcefulness, and execution of concept over the sheer monetary cost of the costume. Entrants are encouraged to use clever, upcycled, or inexpensive materials to bring their vision to life.
Originality & Performance: The concept for the gaming theme and the performance must be original. Entrants must display strong character portrayal and engaging movement.
Selection Process:
The convention team will upload and post all eligible submissions as Reels on the official BACon page.
A panel of judges will select the Top 10 Finalists based on the above criteria (costume quality, performance, and concept).
The final winner will be determined by a combination of a Final Judges’ Score and Public Engagement (likes, shares, and comments) received on their Reel when posted to the official page.
D. Criteria for Judging
1. Judges' Criteria (70% Focus)
The judges will score your video on three key areas. This is where you shine!
Craftsmanship & Resourcefulness - 40 Points
Quality and neatness of your costume construction. We highly reward clever use of materials and ingenuity over just expensive purchases! Show us how you DIYed it!
Concept & Creativity - 30 Points
How original is your gaming concept? How well did you translate Baconette and the game genre into a fun, unique video idea?
Performance & Video Quality - 30 Points
Your energy and character portrayal as Baconette. Is the video well-shot, clearly lit, and edited to be engaging for 90 seconds?
2. Public Voting (30% Focus) - The Final Battle!
All eligible entries will be posted as Reels on our official page. After the Judges select the Top 10 Finalists, the real social media battle begins!
Your public score will be calculated during a special 48-hour voting period to give everyone a chance to boost their final score!
We use a Weighted Engagement Score (WES) to give more credit to high-value interactions:
WES=(Likes×1)+(Comments×2)+(Saves×3)+(Shares×4)
The final winner will be the contestant with the highest overall combined score!
E. Prize
1st Place: Php 3000, Free Guest Booth on BACon 2026 and being the Baconette on Bataan Anime Convention 2026
(Winner should be available at the first week of December for Costume Fitting. Costume will be property of Bataan Anime Convention TWG)2nd Place: Php 1500
3rd Place: Php 1000
F. Legal and Terms
Usage Rights: By submitting an entry, the entrant grants the Bataan Anime Convention the non-exclusive right to post the video on the official page and social media sites and use the submitted content for promotional purposes related to the contest and future conventions.
Disclaimer: Entrants agree to include the following line in their submission notes: "I grant Bataan Anime Convention the right to post my video as a Reel on their page for the purpose of this contest."
